It has often occurred to me , that it would be nice to be able to see on a map, the actual positions of stations you work in a contest. Having used UI-View for some years, it seemed the perfect program to use for such a task. For those who don't know UI- View, it's a APRS prog by Roger Barker, G4IDE. At its basic, it displays station positions, on selectable maps. The position information is contained in short 1200baud RF packets. A feature of UI-View is that it can display ready made files as position overlays, and this is what is used for contest positions. A converter program is used to take information from SDV LOG (*.log) files, and generate a overlay file that UI-View can display. The converter program was written by Andy Pritchard M0CYP To get started, download UI-View . Then grab the two files below. One is the converter program, and the other is a word file containing how it works. The converter prog works with UI-View and UI-View32 which is the registered version. Also grab the maps below. These are based on an original map by Matthew Jeffery G7ORR/M0MAT. Thanks to Matt and Andy M0CYP for help with this project. Instructions Converter Prog
